Caneel Bay is an ideal spot
for beach vacation lovers who love nature, too. It is located
in the 5,000 Virgin Islands National Park. It is the vision of
its founder, Laurence Rockefeller. He wanted to retain the
original natural beauty of the area. The resort blends in with
its natural environment.
There are seven beaches at Caneel Bay. It is
set on a peninsula and surrounded by both the Atlantic Ocean
and the Caribbean Sea. Each of the beaches has its own
distinct personality.
Activities at Caneel Bay include water sports
such as snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, wind surfing, scuba
diving, and so on. Land activities include tennis and nature
hikes. You can also have a massage or work out in the fitness
center.
There are 166 guest rooms and cottages at the
Caneel Bay Resort. Like, their surroundings, the
furnishings are natural. The furniture is handcrafted.
Accessories and decor are made from woven fabrics, natural
wood, and native stone. Guest rooms have either a patio or
balcony that overlooks the beaches or the resort
gardens.
Several restaurants and bars featuring casual
meals and fine dining can be found at the resort.
If you need a company getaway, the resort is
also a conference center that features computers, high speed
internet access, printers, and data ports.
The vision of its founder, Laurence
Rockefeller, was to retain the natural beauty of the area while
providing a luxurious atmosphere in which to relax. Caneel Bay
is a beach lover's paradise.
